Vanity items are items which are used for basic care such as perfume, shaving tools brushes and combs.
There are many items which have been used over the course of history for performing basic daily grooming. The most common items are brushes or combs and shaving utilities. Brushes have progressed over the years from using naturally occurring materials for the brush such as horse hair to using synthetic materials which work better and cost less. Shaving tools have progressed considerably. The earliest shaving utilities were very much like a knife. Today electric razors and multiple bladed razors are quite common. Many of the older style vanity items have become popular collectible items because they help to define older generations and how they lived. It’s also a great way to visually see how even vanity technology has progressed.
